They're all okay. Shadow Form will most likely be nerfed soon though, so don't make an Assassin and rely on that being there for very long by the time you're ready to use it.

Sin, because SF is probably the best farming build, and they work well with Discord

Necro because hexes are cool and discord subway owns. but necros dont have much in the way of farming besides 55

eles are alright, i must say blowing shit up is fun but it can get abit boring casting 5 second meteor showers ect

I think they all have strong points and weaknesses I couldn't put my finger one 1

first of all, i'd like to make a point that nerfing SF would cause inflation of ecto/shards as well as cause the price/demand for many materials to drop. i think the gw economy is balanced with SF, and actually having money encourages people to make and play more characters/professions than they're preivously inclined to do so.

on point: go necro dude. PvE, MoP with EVAS is super fun with AP. Minions? yeah! Spirit spamming? alright! cool armor? they've got some cool ones (depending on style). Just not much soloing with necros, can't really tank well without regular monk stuff.

Sin is kind of boring/annoying in PvE from my point of view (i can't spam death blossom without 3 attack skills or moebius? no thanks).

I've had an Ele for four years, my first character. Highly recommended, highly versatile, but I'm hooked on my rit atm Xp If I didn't have my rit and if I had a LOT more time, I would be playing my ele and war a lot more. In terms of farming, ele has always had a good farming build throughout the years.

You say that like the economy won't balance itself after SF gets nerfed.

sin is fun in PvE to if you use the good build, and moebius is not good :S
for PvP there nice to, and atm good with solo farming.
and you can farm some areas as sin without SF, mostly feather farming.

necro is good for UWSC, and FoWSC, and minions are fun.

ele is very good for solo farming, and if SF gets nerfed, monks and terra ele's will dominate in UW.
even now with candy you can dominate in UW, i heard 19 eath magic is awesome

imho, make a ele

I have an Assassin that doesn't even *have* the Shadow Form skill and I do have a great deal of fun with him. Moebius/DB is excellent damage and Critical Agility makes for perhaps the easiest melee build to play and be successful with. I don't claim to be an awesome player, and I'm yet to die with him and I've even vanquished some easier areas with a friend. Just don't try to tank stuff or go first.

Of the three you listed I prefer Assassin due to its great direct, easy damage. If you are concerned about farming though, with the upcoming SF nerf, I believe Elementalist will shift to best farming class of those you listed... Then again I don't care much about farming and got all stuff I ever needed without farming. Ele would perhaps be fun for you, with good balance of build variety, can run PvE-skill builds well, can farm...

Necros are the 'best' PvE profession or so I hear, but I personally cannot stand playing them, or their looks - I leave the necro'ing to my heroes and friends, I surely enjoy them as party members.

Personal style plays a big factor in this choice.

Try a mesmer if you haven't. They're one of the best PvE and PvP professions. There are a lot of unique builds for them and they can farm.

About the only prof not mentioned so far is:

Rit

Although not in the orginal list, they rool at PvE and are great fun

Otherwise, out of those you chose above:

1. Necro cos they're mighty powerful and have been buffed a bit lately
2. Ele cos they can do so much damage and solo
3. Sin, highly over-rated imho. Fun, but also extremely frustrating at times

If you'r gonna title chase go for the Nec every time.

Have fun w. new char.
